Were you able to finish according to your timeline? Why or why not?
I am glad that I completed on time according to my timeline. My peer reviewer went through my documentation and the constructive feedback was considered and adjusted. All these adjustments bring my canvas documentation to perfection. We as a team of three our delighted that many ideas from the reviewers have been taken into consideration and corrected through this process of peer reviews.
What technology challenges have you faced?
The technical challenges I faced were trying to work out things the way I wanted them to be “my preference”.
What “people” challenges have you faced?
I was lucky to have good team players who stick to times even with their personal family duties. It was a very easy process as one drew a plan for the team members to follow as we started the peer-reviewing process for the upcoming weeks. This made everyone aware of their own duties for that week. Although I would have preferred some challenge, thankfully I did not have this within my peer reviewers.
How have you sought to overcome these difficulties?
To an extent, I have settled to overcome the technical issues that I had with the best I can do with Canvas LMS. I did not come across any peoples challengers to make note of.
What have you learned about completing a major project within a professional deadline?
If you put your heart and soul into a project anything can be done even though it runs through a bit of a struggle, time is time and always it’s best to stick to the time.
What will you do differently next time?
I agree that an instructional designer is a “Jack of all trades and master of design”. He/she needs to know about each domain, specialized in designing instructions for learning and eager to learn and understand new things. I always try to gain knowledge by reading, observing, listing and exploring that could be used with new designs and this is exactly what I will be doing the next time, bringing innovative and creative ideas to my documentation.
What were your strengths as a designer?
My strengths as a designer were to create a learning experience that could help learners accelerate their job performance that will, in turn, benefit the students who are our future generation. Having been able to study at UNT continuously for around three years taking by bachelors and moving to carry on with the masters I have been able to have a clear understanding what is good and bad for an online learner. Taking my own experience into consideration, while designing this course I have applied various instructional theories as well as putting myself in the learners’ shoes, understanding what their needs are, their goals, their learning preferences, and understanding their perspective than what is easy for me.
What do you need to improve?
I am a lifelong learner craving for new knowledge outside the formal system of work that I would be able can share with others. Although I did not use much of the in-build apps that were in canvas. I hope to check these out individually and see how I could implement these in my future endeavors.
