What do you believe will be challenging about your current task work?

Our team typically meets up on Saturday to discuss next week’s challenges. Another good thing that comes out of the team meeting is that the classwork is discussed, and the program and the team help each other achieve the doctoral program tasks that sometimes are left behind due to work, school, and life involvement. We are glad that this is helping all of us.

This week we had a lengthy discussion as we were unsure and unsure of the path we needed to take when it comes to developing the task 3 product assessment plan where the learning improvement will be determined. There was slight confusion, that in the instructional design process, the learning outcomes are involved with a discipline that could be constructivism, humanities, etc., and whether this needs to be taken into consideration to write the learning goals and the outcomes per user. While having different thoughts, we decided to write to Dr. Warren and obtain a classification. Upon his explanation we decided to proceed with the Task 3.

As informed by Dr. Warren, we will need to check on evidence to support whether the conceptual/philosophical framework provides a standard structure for the educational programs, e.g., collaboration, critical thinking, and problem-solving. The students are involved through project-focused classes designed to be hands-on and experimental with real-world challenges. I believe that the project requires the mentioning of a philosophical framework due to the learner is from different ages, cultures, backgrounds, experiences, perceptions, and knowledge. These differences influence by social interest and is related to a particular area of interest. The Solar SolarSPEEL initiative will aim for a social-technical awareness necessary to enable people to make meaningful use of their time.

Reflect on your work time this week. What went well? What was problematic?

This week’s project is slightly running behind schedule, although we hope to compete this week. As the team needed some clarification on the project, we reached out for Dr. Warren’s guidance. With a slight delay, we are heading to another good start: placing together the product assessment and learning improvement. The learning improvement will be measured based on user change over time. We hope to measure to determine the statistical significance. The SolarSPELL, compared to a printed textbook, received a 90.39%, which shows that SolarSPELL improves the teaching & learning process. (De la Garza et al., (2021).

Researching into resources the increased access to resources across subject’s most of the contents has been either from creative commons, open access and other contents obtained by Khan academy, Wikipedia for schools and World’s Largest Lesson. Library lessons of 7,017 were added into the SolarSPELL in 2020 compared to the 1,770 in 2019, and 96,497 learners have been reached within 8 countries; some of the data gathered will be expanded in detail our team project. (Annual report)

Although most of the reference documents were gathered on Monday, Tuesday/Wednesday will start the project work, which could be completed and reviewed by Thursday. I foresee there could be some hiccups in measuring and finding a mechanism to use their performance to provide feedback to the users within the renewable energy framework, the kinds of activities that would reinforce the learning objectives and prepare students for assessments and the way to demonstrate success. Although in normal circumstances, teachers assess students learning through quizzes, tests, writing assignments in a renewable energy environment, there could be other activities that are best suited depending on the user age and language used or the benefit of a second chance. Rest assured; nothing is impossible for our team. We will all place our heads down and find ways to succeed in this project and continue with the next project in hand.
