The work involved for this week was to complete the Chapter 3 research methodology, and most of the research work was under data collecting, data analyzing, ethical consideration, and credibility and trustworthiness. I enjoyed writing and gaining new knowledge while crafting the sections under data collection and data analysis. It was not easy at the start to write something you had not performed, but I felt things were building as you researched, and my understanding of the concepts was evident. Another difficulty I had was structuring the data collection and analysis towards the qualitative phenomenological methodology and capturing the learner’s lived experience.

Writing the data collection on Desk-based research comprised the primary, secondary, and tertiary sources that gave me insight into the identified sources. The interpretative phenomenological analysis taught me to consider the participant’s beliefs, experiences, and perceptions. I needed clarification when writing the survey as I did not know the difference between the survey and the questionnaire and gained some additional knowledge. Collecting video/audio and artifacts could have been clearer, not knowing what needed to be collected in the environment where I was testing the data, which made me deep dive into the research to find one that fits my research. Although the semi-structured interview was easy, I still had to find the difference between a standard interview and why it was called semi-structured.

For the data collection, I needed to think more about how the collected data would be analyzed. The semi-structured interview was cleared but the survey, The interpretative phenomenological analysis approach from more research reading. I had to read more about the video/audio and especially artifacts. While researching, this was interesting, and I gained more ideas and the importance of the analysis. The proposed timeline was similar to the suggestion Dr. Warren constructed in class. Hoping that this could be reduced, but it all had to work around the time. Overall, more research, knowledge, and more valuable and exciting learning.
